Why Providence Place?

I was just working on some of the FAQ's for the new Lakeside Relationship Services website and I was answering this question: what makes you different or stand out from your competitors? That got me to thinking and I think that you deserve to hear what we think about that and we deserve to tell you!

I think that Providence Place Bridal Shop and Special Event Center is the best at what we do because of where we started. You see our interest in the bridal world cam from a totally different perspective. We are first and foremost healthy marriage educators and that's how we got started in this biz. We were busy helping couples save their marriages before they started and it allowed us to spend ample amounts of time with brides and grooms during the planning phase. We learned of your struggles and 'stressors' and what you wanted from a wedding vendor. We learned about the flaws in the industry from your point of view and what the bottom line was when it came to price, customer service and wedding wishes.
Our first response was to have a bridal fair and thus the Lakeside Bridal Fair was born. Our plan was to only allow vendors, that had stellar reputations in this industry, to be a part of the show. It was a huge hit- so much so that we are now planning our 7th Lakeside Bridal Fair! But what we learned is that no one in Dallas was making it very easy on our brides and grooms. Brides were telling us that they were exhausted from driving around the Metroplex to find various Dallas bridal shops and wedding vendors- often to be disappointed by the price point or the rudeness of the staff.

And so we started to dream...

And the Providence Place was born. I think that our tag line says it all: Providence Place ~ for life's most treasured moments...

We also have a great website, aptly
named PurelyProvidential.com - and it really is how we feel about all of this. The owners and women of Providence Place were all brought together through a series of 'providential moments' and we are incredibly blessed to be able to do what we do and to do it together. (I'll tell you more how we all came to be together later...it's a really cool story!) But it's more than just that, we have the most amazing brides and grooms too. We have shed more tears of joy and poignant moments with our customers than any wedding shop ever should. But that's just it- we love what we get to do. We love our ProviBrides and we love that we get to share these special moments with everyone of you. You see what we learned from all that time of delivering pre-marital education classes, from working with couples and putting on bridal shows is that you have to really have a heart for this business because we are being given the chance to be a part of a most special occasion of your lives. We are honored and blessed that you choose us time and time again to place your memories and trust and we do not take that for granted.
That is what makes us different. We are like any business in the sense that we need to sell dresses and book weddings to pay the bills and make ends meet but we feel so much more for the whole process than our competitors do. We are often found counting our memories, and tears, each day over the counting our income. We are often busy consoling brides who have had awful experiences in other shops for a plethora of reasons. We are often the last stop our brides make before the big day to share a glass of champagne and a "just the girls" moment before they head down the aisle. I don't think that we'd ever have it any other way.
So next time you are thinking of your special occasion needs please think of Providence Place- becuase we will be thinking of you long after you leave our doorstep...

As one of the owners, Erin couldn't have said it better. We truly love everyone who walks through our doors. We are considered the "go to" place for advice on weddings--and our advice is FREE! Pop by and visit with us. We have coffee in the mornings and a glass of vino in the afternoons. See you there! Lynette Coughlin, Owner Providence Place
