No Fox in the Hen House!!

So last night, after a great day at the bridal boutique, I settled into the couch , ate ice cream and watched about 3 hours of Say Yes to the Dress- Atlanta. It was glorious. We ourselves are wedding experts but you can never stop learning in this industry and last night I learned all about the rule: No Fox in the Hen House.
I watched Lori, the owner of the store in the Atlanta episodes, she tactfully handled what she referred to as the Foxes: men who come to the bridal appointment. We at Provi have actually only had a couple of visits with grooms while their gals are donning on their dresses. Most have been pleasant and easy to work with. Today we had a dad.
So here's the deal Dad's - be nice. It is your daughter's big day and they deserve your utmost support. And if you are going to give an opinion, try to remember that you are not on the golf course with your buddies, you are with your daughter and her mother and they deserve support, uplifting words and kindness. Your opinion does matter, especially if you are footing the bill but you are not the final decidingg factor in the process. When we try on dresses it's like an egg. We need to get in it, see how it looks on us first before you have your opinion. If you hatch it too quickly- you now what that leads to!! We women like to feel as though our style is our own and when you are there bringing negative statements to the experience it only makes us feel sad- for it is you we are trying to look fantastic for!
There aren't anymore rules in this area. You are allowed to attend the appointment but let your attitude be good and your criticism constructive.
